Victoria Gaskell is a solicitor at Olswang, where she specializes in commercial and regulatory work for clients involved in the exploitation of content across all media including television and new media. Victoria also advises on advertising and sponsorship issues and agreements as well as the regulation of gambling activities in the UK, particularly in the context of interactive television and other remote platforms.
Some of the gambling companies that Victoria works for include PartyGaming and Ladbrokes. Victoria has advised clients such as the Guardian, Channel 4, ITV and Independent News & Media on gambling related issues (including advertising both on and off screen) and lotteries and prize competitions.
Victoria's recent work includes advising Independent News & Media in relation to its 20% investment in online gaming company Cashcade Limited, while also providing commercial and regulatory advice to Independent News & Media in relation to its white labelled online gambling site. She also recently advised PartyGaming on issues surrounding its advertising and promotional activities, and advised SonyBMG on its policy in relation to prizes competitions.
