Prof Michael Wilson is a principal scientist at the CCLRC Rutherford
Appleton Laboratory which is an NDPB that provides large facilities for
UK and international scientific research. The Web started as a tool to
support large scientific projects, and Michael has been involved in
developing Web technologies since those early days. Since 2001 he has
been manager of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Office for the UK
and Ireland in which role he has advised UK government bodies on matters
relating to Web technologies. W3C was established by Sir Tim Berners-Lee
in 1994 to ensure that the Web technologies remained interoperable and
did not fragment into competing closed products from different
suppliers. In 2002 Internet Magazine included Michael in its list of the
50 "movers & shakers" in the UK Internet industry.

Mark is a Partner and head of firm's Intellectual Property Practice and joint head of the eCommerce / Technology Group. He specialises in the protection and use of technology and content - particularly over the web-branding, personality rights and character merchandising and the exploitation of brand, content and technology based properties. Much of his work involves advising on new issues raised by technological advances. He regularly speaks at internet and IP related conferences in the UK and US. Mark also works with the Advertising, Aviation, Charities and Fashion groups. Mark joined Harbottle & Lewis in 1998 from Clifford Chance and was made a Partner in 1999. He is a member of the California Bar, the International Trade Mark Association, the Computer Law Association and the Society for Computers and Law.

Seb is a Partner and head of the firm’s Interactive Enertainment Group. Most of his work involves computer games and other interactive entertainment and he also advises on other internet and new media matters. He handles a variety of commercial and corporate work concentrated on these industries, advising on matters ranging from development, distribution, licensing and other commercial matters to financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate activity in his specialist industries.
Seb is recognised as a leader in the field of computer games by the latest editions of both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners directories. He graduated in economics from Cambridge before converting to law and qualifying in 1995. He joined Harbottle & Lewis in 1996 from Slaughter & May.

Adam is a Solicitor in the firm's Intellectual Property Group and is a member of the eCommerce & Technology Group. He advises clients on a full range of intellectual property, information technology and commercial issues including: the acquisition, protection, exploitation and enforcement of intellectual property rights; the acquisition, development and licensing of information technology hardware and software; and data protection. Adam has particular experience in advising on intellectual property and information technology issues arising in the e- and m-commerce and new media arenas. Adam also works closely with the Interactive Entertainment and Publishing Groups. Adam graduated from Robinson College, Cambridge University with a BA (Hons) degree in law and qualified as a solicitor in 2003. He joined Harbottle & Lewis LLP, from Norton Rose, in 2005.

Neil Brown is a member of Vodafone's Group Legal team. Neil provides
legal advice on cutting edge digital and IP technology, and has a
particular interest in open source software.

Dan Tozer worked in a major City law firm for seven years before joining
Vodafone's Group Legal Department in 2004, where he is a Senior
Solicitor. Dan has spent most of his career advising clients active on
the Internet, and now focuses on advising Vodafone's research and
development function in relation to new products, services and
technology - including online communities and social media.

Dougal Scott is Director of Policy Development at Ofcom in the UK and a member of Ofcom’s senior management group. He is responsible for tracking, contributing to and influencing major external policy initiatives in the UK, EU and elsewhere. He is also responsible for co-ordinating the Government’s Better Regulation agenda within Ofcom: monitoring the impact of regulation, and ensuring that regulation does not impose an inappropriate burden. He is a senior member of the Strategy and Market Development division of Ofcom, which monitors developments in the markets that Ofcom regulates, identifies up-coming regulatory issues and establishes Ofcom’s approach towards them. Prior to joining Ofcom, Dougal was a senior manager at Spectrum Strategy Consultants in London. He has ten years' experience of management consulting in the telecoms and media sectors.
