US government requires education on prepaid card industry's needs
Speaking at the Prepaid Card Expo, which took place 26-28 February, Las Vegas, Visa USA's chief executive, Philip Coghlan, called for the prepaid card industry to play an active role in informing the US government about its needs and concerns.
Final PSD text to be presented to State ambassadors on 14 March

There is little doubt as to potential growth and current interest in the European prepaid card market. PSE Consulting, in its recent report 'Making Sense of Prepaid: who will win?', have commented that growth rates for European prepaid cards are likely to exceed 110% per annum for the next five years, lifting the card base by the end of 2010 to over 360 million cards, generating 2.3 billion transactions and €75 billion in turnover.
