Spain: What the near future looks like for the Spanish market

On 28 May, the wait was finally over - Spain had a new gambling law. It was a tough drafting process with the confrontation between the offline and the online worlds, and the Spanish Government's need to regulate in difficult economic times and in the fastest way possible. The new Law 13/2011 of 27 May on Gambling Regulation ('the Law') was in general warmly welcomed by the industry. However, there are still too many gaps which have been left for future regulation to complete. Thus, the devil will be, indeed, in the detail.
